I’m Lisa Gordon, an Exeter-based Celebrant providing bespoke ceremonies in the Southwest and beyond - should the occasion require.
Many people do not realise that their special ceremonies can be totally crafted to reflect them as a couple, them as a person, them on their life’s path. If you are remembering a life that has passed, celebrating new love or the arrival of someone special – you are in the right place.
As a civil celebrant, it’s my role to guide you through the options and transcribe your desires, dreams and wishes into the day you’ll remember, making a truly bespoke and memorable ceremony for you and your loved ones.

A Civil Celebrant is a trained professional who specialises in creating and officiating personalised wedding ceremonies, vow renewals, baby naming ceremonies and funerals.
Many people believe that important rites of passage have to be conducted by following a certain script by a priest of a designated religion who is legally recognised by the government, but there are more options according to one’s own personal beliefs and rituals.
A Civil Wedding Celebrant is authorised by the government or legal authority to conduct wedding ceremonies without religious content. These celebrants provide an alternative for couples who prefer a non-religious or secular approach to their wedding. Civil celebrants with the support of a Registrar can officiate legally binding ceremonies, much like those conducted by religious officials, but the focus is on celebrating the union in a way that aligns with the couple’s personal beliefs and values, this is not to say that a service cannot include hymns or prayers – it absolutely can - if that is what you wish!
A Funeral Civil Celebrant will get to know you and create a personalised ceremony that reflects your loved one, in a way that honours their character and the way they lived, arranging fitting musical or textual tributes that your special person would have endorsed.
A Baby Naming Celebrant will create a beautiful and uplifting service to celebrate a child’s arrival or welcome a new family member.
